Leigh-AnneLeigh-Anne, mum to a 20-month-old baby, shows what you can do with a bit of determination and the BabyFit Bootcamp.

Now on her fourth round of the 10-week training programme, Leigh-Anne says: “I went from a size 16 to a now 10/12. At times, I managed to fit another fitness session in during the week but ultimately by consistently going to Bootcamp and simply eating just a little less, I have my figure back!”.

Bootcamp instructor Debbie Bagley says: “Leigh-Anne is a great example of someone who has taken her time to enjoy her little one, then working really hard when she was ready.”

Progressive postnatal yoga

Mums who first try yoga during pregnancy often fall in love with it and want to continue afterwards. Which is why we are posting a list of all the daytime yoga classes we currently know of in Norwich and the surrounding areas.

We personally recommend all these teachers but finding a style and teacher that suits you might not happen immediately. Take your time to try a few different classes and you’ll know when it’s right. Enjoy.

The latest BabyFit news, including great Christmas present ideas from local businesses, in this month’s newsletter.

DB-training-2_webFollowing three days of training with BabyFit founder Kate Coulson, we are delighted to announce that BabyFit’s wonderful Postnatal Yoga & Pilates and Bootcamp teacher, Debbie Bagley, is ready to teach her first course of Active Baby Yoga.

Kate, who came over to Norfolk from her home in France, said: “Training was arduous, especially on the two days we could take it outside into the beautifully sunny garden at the Oasis… It was so much fun and Debbie is going to be fantastic”.

After the training, Debbie taught a session to 10 mums and babes who said: “She was fab” and “It was so good. Loved it”.

Debbie is now looking forward to her first BabyFit Active Baby Yoga course at 10-11am Monday 13 May to 24 June (no class BH 27 May), which is already full 🙂 But don’t worry, there is another course starting in July for those who miss out. Click here for more information, course dates and how to book.

The latest news from BabyFit. Thanks for reading 🙂

Guilt comes with motherhood. It’s part of the package. Like the little brown paper case that comes with every Ferrero Rocher. Only less useful.
“Am I a bad mother if I don’t breastfeed?”
“Will my child’s brain shrink if I let him watch CBeebies?”
“Should I be spending the afternoon making playdough instead of working?”
And so on.

LacesI have never bought my children shoes with laces as I wanted them to be able to go in and out of the house without my help. God bless velcro. The little guilty voice was always there: “Your teenager will be ridiculed if he doesn’t know how to tie their laces”. And so I tried to teach five-year-old Tana how to tie laces. But like with potty training, he just wasn’t getting it so I stopped, the voice getting fainter as he pulled on his velcro trainers and raced into the garden.

Two years later and I have bought seven-year-old Tana his first pair of lace-up shoes. He learned how to tie the laces in two minutes while we were in bed this morning. Just like with potty training (he got it in a couple of days when we tried again after his third birthday), Tana was ready when he was ready.

If something feels really difficult, ask yourself if this is really the right time? Take a step back, breathe and be patient.
